frequently asked questions about CRC Telecom

  1. What are the benefits of using this service?

The new service allows your telephone supplier to supply both your calls and your phone line(s). This has a number of benefits for you to take advantage of:
    • One consolidated bill for all your telephone charges - no more BT bills for line rental
    • One point of contact within your supplier for your customer service requirements
    • Significant savings to be made on your call charges and line rental
    • You still have the use of BT's world renowned high quality network
    • All repairs and new installations are carried out by BT's highly trained engineers
  2. What lines are available on the service?

We can transfer existing lines and order new installations for all of the following line types:
    • PSTN Single Lines
    • PSTN Multi Lines
    • ISDN2e
    • Business Highway
    • ISDN30e
We can also transfer but not provision new installations of ISDN30 DASS.
  3. Will an engineer need to visit?

No, all transfers are done without an engineer having to visit. Obviously for new installations an engineer will need to visit your premises.
  4. Will my line go down during a transfer?

No, transfers are done seamlessly and there will be no interruption to your service.
  5. How do I pay for the service?

All charges for rental and any additional services will be taken by direct debit on a monthly basis.
  6. What happens if I experience a fault?

In the unlikely event you suffer a fault on the line, do not ring BT as they will not be able to assist, contact us on 0800 083 2646 - we are available 24/7. Please advise us if you have standard care (Level 1), prompt care (Level 2) or Total Care.
  7. What if I decide to cancel my service?

You will be required to agree to a 12 month minimum service period. If you wished to cancel during this period, cancellation fees may apply.
  8. Can I still use the Internet?

If you have a BT "Surf Time" dial up account, we suggest you do not use it with this service. This is because BT do not use 0800 numbers for "Surf Time" so you would end up being charged for each of your Internet calls. If you have any other dial up account, or an ADSL broadband service you can use the service without problem. Obviously ISDN Internet connections are available in this service so are fully compatible.
  9. What if I want extra lines or new services?

You will need to contact us to request any new installations or changes to your current service.
