Data 1st Backup Software enables data stored on Desktop and Laptop PCs to be securely backed up over the Internet or WAN to the resilient storage facility within a Data 1st data centre.

Backing up Data

Data 1st Backup Software is installed on each PC/Server to be protected. This is downloaded from a designated web site. Installation is carried out by running the downloaded executable file, which guides the user through the installation process, using an install Wizard.

Once installed, the user can select which folders and files they want to protect and activate their account on the storage platform. Backups can be manually instigated or automatic.

Data 1st Backup Software will notify the user when there is a new version of our software available, and provide them with an easy method to upgrade.

Restoration

Restoring files is quick and painless, end users are provided with a Windows Explorer like interface through which they can easily browse for the file(s) they wish to restore. Alternatively there is a search option for quickly locating files. Users are provided with the option of restoring their file(s) to their original location, or to place them somewhere new.

Server Edition

In addition to the feature set listed below, the Server Edition of the Data 1st Backup Software enables server administrators to select Microsoft Exchange mailboxes for automated backup.
